The head of state is like the mouth

Dear brother, says Rama, the care of you, of me, of our kin, of home and wealth belongs to the guru and the king. With the guru, the muni and Mithila's king over our heads, neither you nor I need feel trouble even in a dream. Our highest aim is that we two brothers keep Father's command; it is good by the world and by the Veda. Thinking this, leave all worry and go guard Avadh for the term. Follow the counsel of the muni, the mothers and ministers, and protect the earth, the people and the capital. A ruler should be like the mouth, says Tulsi: it alone eats and drinks, yet with discernment nourishes every limb.
