Bharata bathes in the Mandakini and goes forward
The devas add: had Bharata not been born, who would have held up the burden of dharma? His virtues are beyond poets; who knows them but you, Raghunatha? Rama, Lakshmana and Sita are glad past telling. Meanwhile Bharata and his company bathe in the holy Mandakini. Leaving everyone by the river, with leave from the mothers, guru and ministers, he goes toward Sita and Rama with Guha and Shatrughna. Remembering his mother's deed, he shrinks and doubts. What if Rama, Lakshmana and Sita hear my name and leave this place for another? Thinking me part of my mother's plot, whatever they do is too little. Or they may forgive my sin and receive me, looking to their own nature.
