बेगहु भाइहु सजहु सँजोऊ । सुनि रजाइ कदराइ न कोऊ ॥
भलेहिं नाथ सब कहहिँ सहरषा । एकहिं एक बढ़ावइ करषा ॥

Hurry, brothers, and arm yourselves, Guha says, and at his order no one flinches. Gladly, lord, they all reply, each spurring the other's ardour. The Nishadas come saluting him, every one a brave man eager for the fight. Remembering the sandals of Rama's lotus feet, they tie on quivers and string their bows. They put on armour and helmets and hold axes, bamboo staves and spears ready. Some are so skilled with shield and sword they leap into the air as if they had left the earth. Each band equips itself and goes to salute Guha. Seeing them, he judges all fit and honours each by name. Do not fail me, brothers, he says; today my task is great. The warriors answer hotly: a hero does not lose his nerve.
