What happens in this chapter

Bharata calls himself the root of all wrong

I speak the truth, Bharata says; believe me. A kingdom needs a righteous king. The day you force the throne on me, the earth will sink into the nether world. Who is such a house of sin as I, for whose sake Sita and Rama went to the forest? The king sent Rama away and, parted from him, went to heaven, while I, the cause of it all, sit here listening. Seeing the house without Raghubir, my life stays on and bears the world's mockery. Rama is pure and has no taste for pleasures; I am greedy for land and enjoyment. My heart has outdone the thunderbolt. The effect is harder than its cause: iron, harsher than bone, thunderbolt and stone, comes from them.
