सुनि मुनि बचन प्रेम-रस-साने । सकुचि राम मन महँ मुसुकाने ॥
बालमीकि हँसि कहहिं बहोरी । बानी मधुर अमिय-रस बोरी ॥
suni muni bacana prema-rasa-sāne | sakuci rāma mana maham̐ musukāne ||
bālamīki ham̐si kahahiṃ bahorī | bānī madhura amiya-rasa borī ||

At the muni's loving words Shri Rama smiles inwardly, a little abashed. Valmiki laughs and names the dwellings where he should live with Sita and Lakshmana. Those whose ears are like the ocean, always filled by the rivers of his katha yet never full, their hearts are his fine house. Those whose eyes are the chataka bird, longing for the rain-cloud of his darshan, who scorn rivers, seas and lakes and are satisfied by one drop of his beauty, in their hearts let him dwell with his brother and Sita. In the doha: the one whose tongue is a swan in the clear lake of his glory, picking out the pearls of his virtues, in that heart let Shri Rama live.
