Sharada goes to Ayodhya and turns Manthara

Hearing the devas, Sharada stands regretting: I am to be the frost-night upon a lotus grove. Seeing her, the devas plead again. Mother, no blame will touch you. Raghuraja is beyond grief and joy, and you know Rama's power. Beings reap pleasure and pain by their karma; go to Ayodhya for the good of the devas. They clasp her feet again and again until, reluctantly, she goes, thinking how mean the devas' minds are: high their dwelling, low their deeds, unable to bear another's good fortune. Yet weighing the work to come, she reflects that good poets will long for her. Gladly she enters Dasharatha's city like a harsh planetary period. Manthara, Kaikeyi's dull-witted maid, she makes a casket of ill fame, turns her mind, and departs.
