Sita tells them by a glance who Rama is

They ask: fair-faced one, these two put a million Kamadevas to shame; tell us, who are they to you? Hearing their loving, sweet words, Sita feels shy and smiles inwardly. She looks at them, then at the ground. Then she says softly: the one with the fair body and gentle nature is Lakshmana, my younger brother-in-law. Then she covers her moon face with the end of her sari, glances at her beloved, arches her brows, and with a sidelong look of her wagtail eyes tells them by sign that he is her husband. The women rejoice like paupers looting a king's treasury. Falling at her feet, they bless her: may you be ever a happy wife, as long as the earth rests on Shesha's head.
