Places on Rama's path are envied by heaven

The towns and villages on Rama's road are envied by the cities of the nagas and devas: what meritorious soul founded them, and in what blessed hour? Wherever Rama's feet go, not even Amaravati equals that place. The dwellers of heaven praise the people who live near the road, and those who gaze their fill at the dark-hued Lord with Sita and Lakshmana. The lakes and rivers Rama bathes in are praised by the lakes and rivers of the devas. The kalpavriksha extols any tree under which the Lord sits, and the earth counts herself fortunate to touch the dust of his lotus feet. Clouds give him shade, the devas shower flowers in envy, and Rama walks on, looking at the hills, forests, birds and deer.
