Sita, Rama and Lakshmana join their palms and bow again to the Yamuna, and the brothers walk on with Sita, praising the daughter of the Sun. Many travellers meet them on the road and, seeing the two brothers, speak lovingly. Every limb of yours bears the marks of royalty, and seeing you walk on foot grieves our hearts; to us astrology now seems false. The road is hard, with mountains and great forests, and with you is a tender young woman. The forest is full of elephants and lions. Let us escort you there and then return. So they ask, overcome by love, bodies thrilling and eyes wet, and the ocean of mercy turns them back with humble, gentle words.
