What it says
Rajaraja orders that the gifts made by himself, his elder sister Kundavai, his queens and others be engraved on the stone of the sacred vimana. The walls list the bronzes given to the temple with their measurements, the jewels with their weights, and the names of some 400 temple dancers brought from other temples, each with a house in the streets around the temple, along with musicians, drummers, accountants and lamp-keepers.
They date the temple’s completion to Rajaraja’s 25th year and show how a great Chola temple was staffed and funded.
