Vasu Bharadvaja sings five verses, jagati with a closing trishtubh, to Soma Pavamana. Ruddy and tawny, Soma is pressed and roars toward the cows like a king; crossing the sheep's wool, he sits like a falcon in his ghee-rich seat. Clothed in ghee, he puts away troubles. Parjanya is father of the great winged one, who makes his home on the mountains at the earth's navel. The rishi speaks to him as a wife to her husband, asking him to stay watchful in the gathering. As he once won hundreds and thousands for the forefathers, so let him flow for fresh welfare.
