What happens in this chapter

Like the Roar of a River's Wave

Uchathya Angirasa sings in gayatri. Soma's surging powers rise with a sound like the wave of a river; he is asked to drive the rim of the music's wheel. At his pressing three voices rise up, eager for the rite, as he moves on the woollen ridge. With stones the priests urge the dear tawny one through the sheep's fleece, Pavamana dripping honey. Most joyful, the poet is to flow in a stream through the filter and sit in the seat of the hymn. Anointed with milk, Indu flows for Indra to drink.
