Kavi Bhargava's second gayatri sukta. With good work the singers approach Soma, who carries manly powers in the seats of great heaven. He is praised as the joy of great vratas, who breaks down a hundred strongholds. From heaven the unfaltering eagle, suparna, brought him here as king for wealth. The bird bore him as guardian of rita, shared by all who see the light, swift through the air. Then, urged on, Soma reached his higher greatness, fit for Indra, far-seeing, fulfilling the wish of the worshipper.
