Medhyatithi Kanva sings in gayatri. The tawny Soma begets the bright realms of heaven and the sun in the waters, clothing himself in cows and waters. By the ancient thought, this deva flows in a stream for the Devas. The Somas of a thousand powers flow for the one who grows strong, for the winning of strength. Milking out the ancient milk, he is poured round the filter, and roaring he has brought forth the Devas. Purifying, he flows toward all treasures and the Devas who strengthen rita. The rishi asks for abundant food with cattle, heroes, horses and strength.
