Winds and Rivers Flow for Soma

Gotama Rahugana sings to Soma Pavamana in gayatri. The pressed drops go forward, wise and purifying, and bring wealth that awakens the mind. Soma is asked to stand over heaven and earth as the one who swells splendour and rules over strength. For him the winds blow and the rivers run. The cows yield ghee and milk that never fails for the tawny one on the highest ridge. Let manly vigour gather into him from every side. The rishi closes by seeking the friendship of this well-armed lord of the world.
