Soma and Indra, Lords of the Light

Kashyapa Asita or Devala praises Pavamana Soma in gayatri. Soma, purifying, is asked to bring the wondrous wealth of heaven and earth that deserves praise. Soma and Indra together are called lords of the sunlit sky and lords of cows, and asked to swell the singers' thoughts. The bull, purified among men, thunders over the barhis and the tawny one takes his seat. The prayers have lowed toward the bull's seed like mothers toward a calf. Soma is asked to put fear into the enemies, to find wealth, and to bring down the foe's strength, vigour and life, whether he is far or near.
