Five Peoples Adorn the Flowing Poet

Kashyapa Asita or Devala praises Pavamana Soma in gayatri. The poet has flowed forth, resting on the river's wave, carrying the song that many desire. The five peoples, working together as kin, adorn the steadfast one with song. When he is clothed in milk, all the Devas rejoice in the strong one's juice. Escaping, he runs, leaving behind the husks of his body. Groomed by the daughters of Vivasvat like a shining youth, he makes the milk his robe. Fingers gather to rub the lord of food and grasp the back of the steed. Soma is asked to come, longing for us, with all goods of heaven and earth.
