Vishvaka asks the Ashvins for his son
The sukta is ascribed to Krishna Angirasa or to his son Vishvaka Karshni. The Ashvins are wonder-workers, healers who bring joy. Vishvaka calls them for the sake of his offspring, and every verse closes with one plea: do not part us from your friendship, do not let us go. How can a troubled man praise you rightly? You gave him the insight to seek good. You once gave this man back Vishnapu, the son he had lost. The rishi calls the hero who wins wealth, whose kindness is sweet as a father's. The last verse sings of rita: by rita Savita has toiled, the horn of rita spreads wide.
