Medhya Kanva calls the Ashvins in four trishtubh verses, the ninth Valakhilya sukta. Yoked to their mighty chariot by ancient will, the Nasatyas are asked to come with their powers and drink this third pressing. The thirty-three gods, true ones, have been seen before the truth; let the Ashvins, whose fire is shining, accept our yajna and drink the Soma. Their deed is worthy of praise, the bull of heaven, of mid-air and of earth; let them come to drink with all the thousand praises sung in the search for cows. This share is set down for them; let them drink the honeyed Soma and help the giver.
