Three verses by Vasishtha to the Adityas. 'May we be sinless, Adityas, a fort among the gods and among mortals; may we win Mitra and Varuna, and become heaven and earth.' Let Mitra and Varuna, the guardians, grant shelter to our children and grandchildren. Then the plain plea: 'Let us not suffer for sin done by another, nor do the deed that you, Vasus, punish.' The eager Angirases, seeking the treasure of god Savitar, have reached it; let the great father and all the gods, of one mind, accept it.
