What happens in this chapter

Indra, king of all that moves

Men call on Indra when battle is joined, sings Vasishtha, when they yoke the prayers that carry them across. He asks the hero to give them a share in a pen full of cattle and to open the bounty that lies shut away, for Indra breaks what is firm. Indra is king of the moving world and of the peoples, of every form on earth, and from it he gives wealth to the worshipper. His gift never falls short. The rishi asks Indra to make wide room for wealth so that the people may turn his mind to giving, and to send horses, cattle and chariots.
