Soma unpressed gladdens not Indra

Unpressed Soma has never gladdened Indra, says Vasishtha, nor pressed Soma without prayer. So he brings forth a hymn Indra will enjoy, new and manly, that he may hear us. At every hymn, at every chant, the pressed drops gladden Indra, when men of one mind call him for help as sons call a father. He has done the deeds the poets tell at the pressings and will do others. As one husband cleanses many wives, he has cleansed the forts. Indra alone is the swift sharer of bounty. Vasishtha praises the bull of the peoples for help at the pressing and asks for thousands of prizes.
