Bharadvaja Barhaspatya praises Savitar in jagati and trishtubh. The deva has lifted his golden arms for the impulse of the day; young and skilful, he anoints his hands with ghee. May we live under his excellent quickening, he who settles and sends forth every two-footed and four-footed creature. Golden-tongued, he is asked to guard the home with his unfailing protections, so no evil-wisher rules over us. Each evening he rises again, kind lord of the house, iron-jawed, sweet-tongued, bringing much good to the giver. The last mantra asks for good today, good tomorrow, good day after day.
