Bays bring Indra to the Soma vat

Bharadvaja, son of Brihaspati, invites Indra in trishtubh. Let your yoked bays bring your chariot here, the singer calls you; may we prosper in your company today. The tawny Soma drops have gone into the wooden vat, purified and straight-running; may Indra, the ancient king of the Soma joy, drink first. Swift horses on a fair-wheeled chariot carry him toward fame, and Vayu's nectar never runs dry. Indra, the most active of the generous, sends forth the best gift and leads the patrons past distress. May he grow by hymns and be the slayer of Vritra.
