What happens in this chapter

None greater than Indra, god or mortal

Bharadvaja, son of Brihaspati, praises Indra in trishtubh. He grows ever greater in heroic power, alone, unaging, dealing out wealth. He exceeds heaven and earth; the two worlds together are only half of him. Even now the rivers follow the course he cut for them, and the mountains sat down at his command. This is truth: there is none like you, Indra, no god, no mortal greater. You slew the serpent lying round the flood and let the waters run to the sea. You became king of the moving world, bringing forth sun, sky and dawn together.
