Bharadvaja, son of Brihaspati, calls men in trishtubh to seek Indra's friendship, for he is a great giver with the vajra in his hand. Manly gifts rest in his hand; he stands in a golden chariot, the reins in his strong hands, his bulls yoked. Men honour his feet; he wears a fragrant robe and shines like the sun. The Soma is pressed, the cakes are cooked, the grains are ready, and singers chant their hymns. There is no limit to his might; heaven and earth tremble at his greatness. Born with matchless strength, the golden-jawed hero slays many foes and lays low the Dasyus.
