Puru of the Atri family again turns to Agni in anushtubh and pankti. Through yajnas a mortal should call the mighty deva for help; Puru, at the well-made rite, calls Agni for protection. With his own mouth, more glorious than any, Agni is praised beyond thought, a bright-flamed, joyful vault of heaven. His flames blaze high like the seed of the sky. By the wisdom of this wonder-worker, wealth rides on the chariot, and he is praised among all clans. The rishi asks the child of strength to come quickly with desired gifts, to protect and to help, and to be with them in battle.
