What happens in this chapter The Ribhus who won immortality Seven jagati verses of Vishvamitra to the Ribhus, with the last three to Indra and the Ribhus. The Ribhus, sons of Sudhanvan and grandsons of Manu, won their share in the sacrifice by their skill. With their powers they fashioned the cups into four, drew a cow out of a hide, and shaped Indra's two bays with their mind; by these deeds they reached the state of devas. Through good work they won immortality and Indra's friendship. None can match their deeds. Indra is asked to drink the Soma with the Ribhus and Vaja and to come to the singer's rite.
