What happens in this chapter

Agni, son of heaven, with Indra

Vishvamitra's five trishtubh verses to Agni, with the fourth to Agni and Indra together. Agni is son of heaven, wise, and child of the earth, all knowing; he is asked to worship the devas one by one. Knowing, he wins heroic powers and strength while adorning the immortals. He shines over heaven and earth, the two immortal goddesses, ruling with strength. Agni and Indra are invited to the home of the presser, to the rite, to drink the Soma. The last verse says Agni is kindled in the home of the waters, eternal son of strength.
