Agni, lord of heroes and good fortune

Utkila Katya's hymn to Agni in pragatha stanzas, brihati with satobrihati. Agni is lord of heroic strength and great good fortune, of wealth with fine offspring and cattle, and of Vritra-slaying victories. The Maruts are asked to stand by him, in whom are riches that bring joy, and who overcomes the malicious in battle. The rishi asks Agni not to deliver them to poverty of mind, to want of heroes or of cattle, nor to the reviler, and to remove hostility. He prays for great strength with offspring at the rite and for abundant, joyful, glorious wealth.
