Indra, terrible as a mountain beast

Jaya Aindra praises Indra in trishtubh. You have overcome foes, much-invoked one; your strength is highest; let your gift be here. Bring us goods with your right hand, Indra; you are lord of the rich rivers. Like a terrible beast roaming the mountain, you have come from the far distance; sharpening your spear and your keen rim, strike the foes apart and push away the enemies. Indra, you were born to lordship, to fair strength, a bull among men; you drove away the hostile folk and made wide room for the devas. Three verses, each a stroke of praise.
