What happens in this chapter

Indra loves the wholehearted presser

Purana Vaishvamitra calls Indra in trishtubh. Drink this sharp soma; unyoke your bay horses here; let no other yajamanas hold you, for these pressings are for you. The one who presses soma for him with an eager mind and his whole heart, longing for the deva, Indra never lets lose his cows; he makes his life fair and praised. But the rich man who does not press soma, Indra marks and sets him empty-handed, and strikes the haters of prayer unbidden. Seeking horses, cows and strength, we call you near, Indra, to dwell in your fresh favour.
