Savitar fixes the earth and sky

Archan Hairanyastupa praises Savitar in trishtubh. Savitar made the earth firm with bonds and fixed the sky where there was no support; he milked the roaring mid-air like a horse, and the ocean bound in the boundless. Apam Napat, Savitar, knows where the ocean, held fast, flowed out; from there the earth and the region rose, and heaven and earth spread wide. Afterwards came the rest of the immortal world, and Suparna Garutman, born first of Savitar, follows his law. The rishi asks Savitar to come to us as cows to the village, as a mother cow to her calf, as a husband to his wife.
