Indrani's herb against the co-wife
Indrani is the rishi, and the anukramani names the subject as driving away a co-wife, in anushtubh. The speaker digs up a powerful herb with upturned leaves, sped by the devas, by which a woman overcomes her rival and wins her husband. She tells it to blow the co-wife far away and make the husband hers alone. I am higher, she says, higher than the higher ones, and my rival is lower than the low. She places it under him so that his mind runs after her like a cow after its calf, like water down its path.
उत्ता॑नपर्णे॒ सुभ॑गे॒ देव॑जूते॒ सह॑स्वति ।
स॒पत्नीं॑ मे॒ परा॑ धम॒ पतिं॑ मे॒ केव॑लं कुरु
uttānaparṇe subhage devajūte sahasvati |
sapatnīṃ me parā dhama patiṃ me kevalaṃ kuru
उत्त॑रा॒हमु॑त्तर॒ उत्त॒रेदुत्त॑राभ्यः ।

उ॒भे सह॑स्वती भू॒त्वी स॒पत्नीं॑ मे सहावहै
ahamasmi sahamānātha tvamasi sāsahiḥ |
ubhe sahasvatī bhūtvī sapatnīṃ me sahāvahai

मामनु॒ प्र ते॒ मनो॑ व॒त्सं गौरि॑व धावतु प॒था वारि॑व धावतु
