Rama's own doctrine: none dearer than a devotee
Rama goes on to Bhushundi: hear my own doctrine, plain and true, and worship me alone. This world is born of my maya. All are dear to me, for I made them all, but humans please me most. Among humans the twice-born, among them those who hold the Vedas, among them those who follow Vedic dharma; dearer the renunciant, then the knower, and dearer than the knower the one of realised wisdom. Dearer still is my own servant, who has no refuge or hope but me. No one is as dear to me as my servant. Even Brahma without bhakti is to me like any creature, while a devotee, however low, is dear as life.
