Vibhishana's plight and the Lord's ways
I live here, says Vibhishana, like the tongue among the teeth. Will the Lord of the Solar race ever see me as helpless and show grace? My body is tamasic, I have no sadhana, no love for His feet. Yet now I have hope, for without Hari's grace one does not meet saints; Raghubir must have blessed me, since you came to me unasked. Hanuman answers that the Lord always loves His servants. And what high birth have I? A restless monkey, lacking in every way; whoever speaks my name at dawn goes without food that day. Even on one so low as me, friend, Raghubir has shown grace. Remembering the Lord's virtues, Hanuman's eyes fill with tears.
