Vibhishana performs Ravana's last rites
Hearing Mandodari's words, the devas, munis and siddhas are glad. Brahma, Mahesh, Narada, Sanaka and the other great sages devoted to the highest truth gaze at Raghupati with full eyes and are lost in love. Vibhishana sees all the women weeping and goes to them, his heart heavy. He grieves at his brother's state. Then the Lord gives his younger brother an instruction, and Lakshmana consoles Vibhishana in many ways, after which he returns to the Lord. Rama looks on him with grace: put aside all grief and perform the rites. Obeying the Lord, Vibhishana carries out the funeral rites as scripture lays down, mindful of place and time. Mandodari and the other women offer water and sesame for the departed and go home, recounting Raghupati's virtues in their hearts.
भरि लोचन रघुपतिहि निहारी । प्रेम-मगन सब भये सुखारी ॥
रुदन करत देखीं सब नारी । गयउ बिभीषन मन दुख भारी ॥
bhari locana raghupatihi nihārī | prema-magana saba bhaye sukhārī ||
rudana karata dekhīṃ saba nārī | gayau bibhīṣana mana dukha bhārī ||
बन्धु दसा बिलोकि दुख कीन्हा । तब प्रभु अनुजहि आयसु दीन्हा ॥
लछिमन तेहि बहु बिधि समुझायो । बहुरि बिभीषन प्रभु पहिं आये ॥

कृपादृष्टि प्रभु ताहि बिलोका । करहु क्रिया परिहरि सब सोका ॥
कीन्हि क्रिया प्रभु आयसु मानी । विधिवत देस काल जियँ जानी ॥
kṛpādṛṣṭi prabhu tāhi bilokā | karahu kriyā parihari saba sokā ||
kīnhi kriyā prabhu āyasu mānī | vidhivata desa kāla jiyam̐ jānī ||
मन्दोदरी आदि सब, देइ तिलाञ्जलि ताहि ।
भवन गई रघुपति गुन-गन बरनत सन माहि ॥
