What happens in this chapter

Shri Rama takes the blame on himself

With joined palms and a voice humble, soft and cool, Shri Rama speaks. Lord, you are wise by nature; do not heed a boy's words. Children and wasps are alike, and the learned never trouble them. I alone have offended you. Grace or anger, death or bondage, deal with me as with your servant, and tell me quickly what will end your wrath. Parashurama answers: Rama, how can my anger go when your brother still looks at me so insolently? If I have not put my axe to his throat, then what has all my wrath achieved? The queens of the earth miscarry on hearing of my axe, and yet I see this enemy prince alive while the axe is in my hand.
