प्रभुहि देखि सब नृप हिय हारे । जनु राकेस उदय भये तारे ॥
अस प्रतीति सब के मन माहीँ । राम चाप तोरब सक नाहीँ ॥
prabhuhi dekhi saba nṛpa hiya hāre | janu rākesa udaya bhaye tāre ||
asa pratīti saba ke mana māhīm̐ | rāma cāpa toraba saka nāhīm̐ ||

Seeing the Lord, all the kings lose heart, like stars when the full moon rises. Each feels sure Shri Rama will break the bow, and even if he does not, Sita will garland him. So, some say, let us go home before we lose our glory and strength. Other kings, blind with pride, laugh at this: marriage is hard even after breaking the bow, so who will wed her without breaking it? Even if Death himself stands in the way, we will defeat him for Sita. The righteous kings, devotees of Hari, smile. Shri Rama will wed Sita and humble the kings, they say; who can beat Dasharatha's warrior sons?
