A woman tells who the princes are

Who would not be enchanted by this form, asks one. Another speaks gently with love: wise one, hear what I have heard. These two are Dasharatha's sons. They guarded the yajna of the muni Kaushika and slew the night-walkers on the field of battle. The dark one with lotus eyes, who broke the pride of Maricha and Subahu, is Kausalya's son, the mine of joy, named Rama, bow and arrows in hand. The fair youth walking behind Him with bow and arrows is His younger brother Lakshmana; listen, friend, his mother is Sumitra. Having done the Brahmana's work and freed the muni's wife on the way, the brothers have come to see the bow-yajna. Hearing this, all the women rejoice.
