Two children seen at once

One day Kausalya bathes the child, dresses Him and lays Him in the cradle. Then she bathes to worship Bhagavan, the chosen deity of her family. She performs the puja, offers naivedya and goes to the kitchen. Coming back to the shrine, she finds her son eating the offering. Frightened, she hurries to the nursery and finds the child asleep in the cradle. She returns to the shrine and sees Him there again. Her heart trembles and her mind cannot steady itself. A child here and a child there: is my mind deluded, she wonders, or is this something else? Seeing His mother so troubled, Rama smiles sweetly. Then He shows her His wondrous, undivided form, with millions upon millions of universes hanging on each hair of His body.
