Vishnu resolves to uproot Narada's pride
The Lord goes on: delusion comes to one whose heart lacks wisdom and dispassion; how could Kama trouble you, steady and devoted to brahmacharya? Narada answered with pride that it was all the Lord's grace. The ocean of mercy saw that a great tree of pride had sprouted in the muni's heart. He resolved to tear it out at once, for His vow is the good of His servants; His play would serve the sage. Narada bowed and left, his ego swelling. Then the Lord of Shri set His maya to work, and Shiva asks Parvati to hear its hard doings. On Narada's path it built a city a hundred yojanas wide, more splendid in its many designs than Vaikuntha itself.
