Sita goes on. I have seen my father's splendour, his footstool touched by kings' jewelled crowns, yet that home of comforts does not please me without my beloved. My father-in-law is emperor of Kosala, known in all fourteen worlds, whom Indra comes forward to receive and seats on half his throne. Such a father-in-law, Ayodhya as home, a loving family, mothers-in-law like my mother: without the dust of Raghupati's feet none of these gives joy even in a dream. Hard paths, mountains, elephants and lions, rivers, Kols and Kiratas, deer and birds, all are pleasant with my lord. Fall at my elders' feet for me and tell them not to grieve; I am happy in the forest.
