Bharata asks to see Chitrakoot's holy places

I have one great wish, Bharata says, but fear and shyness stop me from saying it. Speak, brother, says the Lord, and with his leave Bharata speaks lovingly. Chitrakoot's places of the munis, its tirthas and woods, lakes, streams and hills, and the earth especially marked by the Lord's feet: if you permit, I would go and see them. Certainly, says Rama, but take Atri's command on your head, and wander the forest without fear. Wherever the chief of rishis directs, keep the tirtha water there. Hearing this, Bharata is happy and bows joyfully at the muni's lotus feet. Hearing this talk of Bharata and Rama, root of all good, the selfish gods praise the Raghu line and rain flowers from the wish-granting tree.
