What happens in this chapter

All creation praises Chitrakuta

Elephants, lions, monkeys, boars and deer roam together, their enmity gone. Herds of deer, seeing Shri Rama's form as he wanders on the hunt, rejoice. Every divine grove in the world envies Shri Rama's forest. The Ganga, Sarasvati, Yamuna daughter of the Sun, Narmada daughter of Mekala and the blessed Godavari, with all lakes, seas and rivers, praise the Mandakini. The mountains of sunrise and sunset, Kailasa, Mandara, Meru the home of the devas, Himachala and the rest all sing the glory of Chitrakuta. The Vindhya is so glad its joy cannot be contained, having won great honour without effort. In the doha the devas say day and night that the birds, beasts, creepers and plants of Chitrakuta, of every kind, are blessed heaps of merit.
