Matchless forms; tears for tender feet

The villagers go on: if these two eat roots and fruits, all the nectar-like foods in the world are useless. One says these two are naturally lovely; they appeared by themselves, the Creator did not make them. Search all fourteen worlds: where is such a man, or such a woman? Another says that, seeing them, the Creator fell in love and began to make a match for them, but despite great labour none came out right, so in envy he hid them away in the forest. Another says: all who have seen them, see them or will see them are heaps of merit. So saying, they fill their eyes with tears: how will such tender bodies walk this hard road?
