Kabandha freed from Durvasa's curse

Raghunath is tender-hearted and kind without cause, says Shiva: to a vulture, a low flesh-eating bird, he gave the state yogis beg for. Unfortunate, Uma, are those who leave Hari for sense pleasures. The brothers walk on searching for Sita through dense forest full of creepers, birds, deer, elephants and lions. On the path Rama strikes down Kabandha, who tells the story of his curse: Durvasa cursed me, and seeing the Lord's feet has wiped out that sin. Rama answers the gandharva: those who wrong the Brahmin race do not please me. Whoever serves the Brahmins without deceit in thought, word and deed holds me, Brahma, Shiva and all the devas in his power.
