Suta says that where the skin of that enemy of the devas fell on the Himalaya, topazes of great merit arise. The stone that is pale yellow and pleasing is the pushparaga proper. If it is reddish yellow it is named kaukantaka. One that is slightly red, yellow and clear is called kashayaka. A smooth stone of bluish white is the somalaka, also a good one. A stone that is deep red is to be counted as padmaraga, and one that is a fine blue is counted as indranila. Gem experts set its price the same as that of vaidurya, and the fruit of wearing it is the same too, with one addition: for women the pushparaga is said to bring the gift of a son.
