What happens in this chapter

Indu as Messenger to the Devas

Ayasya Angirasa's second gayatri sukta. Soma, watcher of men, is asked to flow for joy and the feasting of the Devas, for Indra to drink. He is to go on his errand as messenger, flowing for Indra and the Devas his friends. We anoint the ruddy one with milk for joy; may he open the doors to wealth. The steed has crossed the filter like a horse pulling at the pole, and Indu rules among the Devas. Friends cheer him at play in the wood beyond the fleece. By the stream through which he sees far, let him bring strong sons to the praiser.
