Indra, the first giver of bounty

Nrimedha and Purumedha Angirasa pray that Indra, called in every battle, slayer of Vritra, come to their prayers and pressings. You are the first giver of bounty, true, the maker of lords; we seek the friendship of the son of strength. These prayers, never before made, are offered to you; accept them, lord of bay horses. You are true, Maghavan, unbending; you bring down many foes. Turn wealth this way for the giver, mighty one with vajra in hand. You alone strike down enemies who cannot be repelled. Your shelter, Indra, is like a great hide spread wide; let your favours reach us.
